About our school

Young Public School was established in 1861 and moved to its present site in 1976. The learning and welfare programs are built upon the school code: Be honest, Show kindness, Respect people and property. Young Public School: Thinking of Others. 

Young Public School was established in 1861 and moved to its present site in 1976. In recent years the school has been networked, linking all classrooms and a computer laboratory to the Internet. Our library is fully computerized. Technology is incorporated into many aspects of teaching and learning. Our school has recently participated in the Microsoft Partners in Learning Program. The school has spacious and well-grassed playing fields.

YPS Commendation Scheme

Young Public School caters for all children from those with learning and physical disabilities through to those children who have above average academic ability. We aim to develop each student to his or her full potential. This is achieved through a collaborative focus involving students, parents, staff and the wider school community. The school will provide a range of features:
